Historilogy
PERALUMMOOTTIL KUDUMBAYOGAM, is an assemblage of persons that formed a small congregation on or Before 1907 (as per the records reveals that it commenced since then) to continue the relationship between families and to bring them under one roof and helped the members of the family to know each other and to promote mutual understanding among the members of the Peralummoottil Kudumbayogam who are the descendants of common ancestor-One Thommy-a member of the Karavadesseril branch of the Pakalomattom Tharvadu. The said Thommy came from kuravilangad in the year 1700 A.D.He had settled in the renowned ancient area of Central Travancore namely Kallooppara Pakuthy in a house called Vellikkara which is in Kavungumprayar Kara. His family spread and flourished in various places at different house names.Peralummoottil Kudumbayogam now constitute more than 700 families scattered in Central Travancore, all over India, and in different parts of the world.The said family congregation has grown larger and is now called by the name of Kallooppara Peralummoottil Kudumbayogam.
Formation
Our first family meeting was held in A.D.1907 (M.E 1082) at Thuruthipallil house, Madathumbhagom Vadakkekara and the Second meeting held in A.D.1912 (M.E 1087) at Parumannil house Kavumgumprayar and the Third one in A.D. 1917 (M.E 1092) at Kunnumpurathu house in Kalloorkara, (as per the Diary of GeeVarghese Chandy, Kottackal- Page No.194 of 1917 but that was discontinued for some years due to some reasons.
To give a brake to the inactivity of the Kudumbayogam, after celebrating a 'Holy Communion (Quirbana) on 25-03-1973 at the Kuravilangadu Church, where our forefathers were worshiping, an initial meeting of the representatives of various branches was held on 01-04-1973 at the residence of Shri. C.T. Thomas, Thuruthipallil, Ikarapadi, Kallooppara with Very Rev. Kalloor Berthalomma Cor-Episcopa in the chair. A committee was formed for the said purpose with Very Rev. Kalloor Berthalomma - Cor-Episcopa as the Patron, Rev. Fr. T.N. Joseph Thottupurathu as the Co-patron, Shri. C.T. Thomas Thuruthipallil as the President, Shri. K.V. Kurian, Kakkanattil Hill Gardens as the Secretary, Shri. Joseph .T. Thuruthipally as the Joint Secretary and Shri. P.J. Kurien Pannikkottu as the Treasurer. Mssrs. Mathai Thomas Vazhuvelil, Ouseph Varghese Thottupurathu, C.P. Chandy Kalloor, K.C. Issac Kottackal, P.O. Joseph Parumannil, Itty Poulose Kurungazhikottu, were elected as members of the committee.
Designation
The two storied building (Malika Veedu) was given to our ancestor, by Edappally Thampuran is named PERALUMMOOTTIL. In order to realize the status and privilege of the family by future generation, the committee decided to name the family congregation as 'KALLOOPPARA PERALUMMOOTTIL KUDUMBAYOGAM'.
Aim
To gather all members of the family all over the world under one flag in a Christian background to know each other and to promote ones pride, culture and mental courage.
Membership
Male children and Unmarried female children are members of the Kudumbayogam.
Married daughters of those families where there are only female members and who are living with the parents to keep the generation in existence (Dettavakasam) can get membership on the basis of an application.
Activities
Convening annual General body, meetings of youth and women and arts and sports contests. Welfare activities, Educational encouragement and cultural programmes are being convened. Publication of History and Website are also included under our activities.
